Description: ------------ testing VAT numbers IE9E61585W and IE8E89142O from http://www.ulsterbank.ie/ri_global_options.asp?id=GLOBAL/LEGAL results with an 'invalid/false' value. These are 'old style' vat numbers - convert these to the new style by string manipulation: 1A23456B gets transformed to 0234561B. Then valid this new value with the checkMOD23 function. Test script: --------------- <?php include("./IE.php"); $noYes = array('NO', 'YES'); $vatNumbers = array("IE8E89142O","IE9E61585W"); foreach ($vatNumbers as $vatNumber) { echo "{$vatNumber}: ".$noYes[Validate_IE::vatNumber($vatNumber)]."\n"; } ?> Expected result: ---------------- IE8E89142O: YES IE9E61585W: YES Actual result: -------------- IE8E89142O: NO IE9E61585W: NO

This bug has been fixed in CVS. If this was a documentation problem, the fix will appear on pear.php.net by the end of next Sunday (CET). If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should be live shortly. Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release. Thank you for the report and for helping us make PEAR better.
